The story of Adriana Academics begins back in 1999 when Adriana started tutoring her first students as a junior in high school while attending classes at Antelope Valley Community College in Lancaster, CA. Even though she was a high school student, she assisted college students with biology and various math topics.
Shortly thereafter she was hired as a staff tutor at the college, where she tutored biology, math (algebra, trigonometry, and geometry), and GED preparation. In 2001, after graduating with honors from Paraclete High School, she moved on to the prestigious biomedical program at the University of California, Riverside.
As an undergraduate, Adriana continued her work as a tutor. She taught a broad range of math and science topics to high school and undergraduate students. At the time, Adriana was pursuing her degree in Biological Sciences because she had a true passion for understanding the nature of biological systems including brain-personality relationships and how the environment affects outcome.
After graduating from university, Adriana pursued her graduate degree in Public Health at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). While in LA, Adriana taught at an independent school where she focused on helping behaviourally challenged students who struggled in the classic classroom setting. Under Adriana’s guidance, her students went from failing high school courses to achieving graduating marks and entering college. In fact, some of her students have gone on to become lawyers, business owners, and artists.
Fast forward to 2010, Adriana met her future husband and tutoring teammate Jordan while attending a graduate gathering at the University of California, Irvine. Adriana and Jordan connected with their mutual passion for helping others succeed. Jordan was already an experienced tutor in his own right. Due to their passion for tutoring and their success with students Jordan and Adriana launched Adriana Academics in 2014.
Since 1999, Adriana Academics has served Southern Californian families by providing subject tutoring, exam preparation, and college application advising.
We help students and their families navigate through K-12 and college-level coursework, standardized exams, the college application process, and college life. We get to know our clients so that we can help students develop their own effective study habits, test-taking skills, and overall academic confidence.
We measure our success by our students’ success.
